he Express UU Bar Ranch, in Cimarron, New Mexico, offers a plethora of fishing opportunities for anglers looking for a unique and quality fishing experience. With many bodies of water scattered across its 160,000 acres, a day simply isn’t enough to fully enjoy all of the fishing that surrounds us.
Offering new packages for the first summer in 2008, we aim to provide quality fishing and the best private experience in New Mexico. Our lakes have been a part of the ranch for years, and have always had fish in them. We are improving those lakes by adding additional fish to stock them to their full potential. Through fishing our lower waters most casts will find a good sized brown trout at the end of the line, with an occasional rainbow. In our higher country it is more common to land a rainbow.
Northern Pike, which are found inthe Miami Lagoons, are one of our most popular attractions.These lagoons are a private part of the ranch, located just below Miami Lake where the state record pike was caught. We believe the next state record for pike will be caught right here on the UU Bar Ranch!
Our amenities that are offered to coincide with the fishing are yet another wonderful option that anglers are taking advantage of. We have two cabins located in our high country, which each sit on their own private lake. Guests that choose one of our cabin packages fish not only that lake, but all three of our high country lakes.
When you’re all fished out, which may not ever happen for some, change the pace a little with a couple rounds of sporting clays. Most outdoorsmen not only enjoy fishing, but also shooting sports, and hunting. If this applies to you, you will definitely feel right at home here on the UU Bar. We have an extraordinary sporting clay center and rifle range.
All of our cabin fishing packages are offered on a two-day minimum basis, with daily rates offered on our Rayado package and price incentives offered when booking for multiple days. Packages up top allow full use of private cabin, and while we are unable to provide full service of a chef up top, Rayado fishermen are provided three meals a day prepared by the ranch’s executive chef Ralph Knighton. All of our lakes are class A lakes, which only requires our guests to possess a license when fishing running water. These licenses will be available directly through the ranch.

Our high alpine country holds three of our most popular lakes.
Ojo Lake and Cabin… Located in our Alpine Country this cozy modern log cabin and pristine lake sets above 9,400 feet. Fully furnished, this cabin and lake is what most folks dream of. This cabin is hidden in tall timber and sleeps up to 8 people. Separate shower house with hot water and toilet is a short walk out the back door. Ojo Lake has been stocked with a majority of Rainbow Trout with a few Brown Trout also.
Middle Lake… This rugged deep water lake sets between Ojo Lake and Aqua Fria Lake. Located at the top of a deep canyon, this lake is loaded with Brown, Brook and Rainbow Trout. Nice shelter with picnic table. There are two boats with trolling motors for your use.
Aqua Fria Lake and Cabin… This is our largest High Country Lake. Spectacular views surround this lake and cabin. The lake is full of Rainbow and Brown Trout. Fish from the banks or from one of the two boats with trolling motors. This large cabin sleeps 14 and is fully furnished with beautiful and comfortable furniture. Separate shower house has two bathrooms with showers.
At lower elevations on the ranch you will find several smaller lakes, lagoons and ponds with equally impressive fishing opportunities. Please call for more information.
